Thank you to everyone for supporting us. It looks like we will be moving from the wonderful space we have called home for the last 2 1/2 years. Thanks to all who have graced our doorstep. Stay tuned for news of where we are moving (probably just around the corner) – to be revealed shortly.

Thank you for the blessings you have bestowed upon us, and the gifts of your love.  We are so very thankful.

Beyond the picket fence, past the carpet of grass just beckoning to be played on, past the porch with the colorful Adirondack furniture, sits a house filled with some treasures and maybe a couple tales. Open the door, and find yourself greeted with color and imagination (butterflies, flowers and feather trees are not unusual here). Come on in, and take a gander while you meander through our various rooms and levels.

With a focus on “Fun, Funky, Fantastic and Fair-Trade, our unique and unusual products range from couture jewelry to rubber chickens – and almost everything in between. haha!

Our Toy-Annex is a must for the little ones; they love to play at the activity table, or take the shopping cart past the play kitchen to the grocery store. The 1^st Rotunda is always a work in progress. Right now, the vision is a Psychedelic Grotto. (With Liz on the task, it’s always something new.)

In the main room on the first level, one can find an eclectic mix of laugh-out-loud novelties, incense, soap, collectibles and more. In the jewelry alcove, one will find lovely, whimsical and thoughtful pieces from across the globe. While checking all this out, the incense corner by the fireplace will lure you in with its siren scents. From there, you’ll take a right up the stairs, just past the antique piano. Upstairs, you’ll find funky clothing, some cool housewares (glass & porcelain), and anything else that strikes our fancy.

Meet the Owner, Liz Jacobson:

Liz Jacobson

On any given day you’ll find Liz Jacobson bopping around the store, and being only slightly insane. She is the driving force behind Treasures & Tales. She’s been married for 200 years (so her husband says), has two teenage daughters, a dog, a cat, two goldfish and occasionally 3 gerbils – and not a single gray hair!

Struck by the crumbling state of her village during the tremendous economic collapse, Liz took a stand, and opened T&T as a love letter to the village. This was her way to say, “There’s hope. We’ll breathe life back in to our village with new energy and ideas.” She has created a space where people are welcome to hang out, chat, have a picnic, or watch the clouds go by. In this magical space, people often find kismet.

She understands the importance of community and school involvement, and has a “Git er done” attitude. So we shouldn’t be surprised that she’s also quite active with the Croton Business Council, and a member of the Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce.  In her spare time Liz sings lead in an R&B cover band and travels.
